"AMAZING FLORES ISLAND"

Flores Overland Komodo Tour 7D 6N

Day 1 : Maumere(D)

Upon arrival at Maumere on the island of Flores you will be welcomed by our local guide. Transfer in to hotel for overnight.

Day 2 : Maumere – Moni (B,L,D) +/- 100 km

After Breakfast visit Wuring a Fishing Village in Maumere. Onwards, to Ledalero Museum. In this small museum you will see a collection of woven Ikats and precious stones. Sikka is known for is old church from 1899 and Ikat which is enthusiastically sold by the local people. At Paga Beach a moment to relax and if you like you can swim here. Before Moni a visit Traditional village Jopu. In

Moni you’ll stay overnight. Rooms are non AC in this cool hill climate. At night you could make a stroll through the small village of Moni.

Day 3: Moni – Bajawa (B,L,D) +/- 150 km

Early morning wake up call for departure to the Kelimutu volcano. A short walk (30 minutes) will take you to the look out point to wait for the sunrise. Kelimutu means Mountain of the Spirits. Known for its famous 3 color lakes: Turquoise, Brown and Black. It’s the dissolved minerals that give the different colors. Breakfast after return to the hotel. Continue through beautiful landscape via Ende to Bajawa with stops at Soekarno’s House in Ende, at the green stone beach Pengga Jawa, beautiful views of the Ebulobo volcano and before Bajawa a stop at traditional village Wogo. Overnight at Bajawa

Day 4: Bajawa – Ruteng (B,L,D) 133 km

In the morning a visit to the traditional village of Bena. Besides still intact, with the megalith stones besides the old houses, this village has beautiful location with views of Mount Inerie.. In the afternoon depart for Ruteng. On the way visit Lake Rana Mese and Ruteng Puu. Overnight in Ruteng.

Day 5: Ruteng – Labuan Bajo – Rinca (B,L,D) 137 km

Our purpose today is to see the Komodo Dragon. This largest living lizard on earth lives on 3 islands Rinca,& Komodo and some parts of West Flores. Its length can go up to 3 meters with weight of up to 90 kilo. Morning to Labuan Bajo. En route visit spider web rice fields at Cancar. On arrival at Labuan Bajo. Here boarding to cross to less famous Rinca island. Lunch on board. After 1 ½ hour sailing we reach Loh Buaya. Led by a local ranger, 2 hour soft trekking through forest and savanna. Komodo Dragons are often spotted on the way. From the highest point on this hike a beautiful panorama of the surrounding island. Dinner and overnight on boat.

Day 6: Komodo Island & Pink Beach – Labuan Bajo (B,L,D)

Early breakfast on board and departure for Komodo island. This trip over blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small island will take approximately 3 hours until Pink Beach . Here lunch and time to discover the splendid underwater world of these rich waters (snorkels and fins are provided). On to visit Komodo island and make a walk (1 hour) with a local ranger in search of the Komodo dragons. During your visit also wild buffalo, deer, pigs and various species of tropical birds like the Cockatoo can be seen. Return to Labuan Bajo will take around 4 hours. Upon arrival at the harbor, transfer to the hotel in Labuan Bajo for overnight.

Day 7: Labuan Bajo – Denpasar (B)
Breakfast at hotel. At Leisure until transfer you to the Airport for next destination.

WHAT TO BRING:

Dress is casual. Clothing should be light, preferably cotton with at least one long sleeved shirt and pants. Bathing suit, thongs or sandals and sneakers or walking boots, lots of film, camera, replacement batteries, and spares. Women please note Indonesia is a mostly Muslim country and custom dictates modesty. Please be well covered on shore excursions. Bring one light sweater or jacket as it can get cool in the highlands. Also bring sun-screen, insect repellent, sunglasses, sunhat, swimmers. Please advise beforehand if you have any special dietary requirements. Beer is available at local rates. Bring also your passport, visa, airline tickets, local currency and or US$ in small denominations.

KOMODO ISLAND


Komodo National Park (TN. Komodo) is an area that consists of several islands with sea water. The islands are the habitat of the Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) the ancient reptiles left on Earth.Komodo National Park is located at the west end of East Nusa Tenggara, exactly in between the islands of Sumbawa (Nusa Tenggara) and Flores (Flores). Administratively, the area is located within the District of Komodo, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. In komodo island you will see everything from the giant (guinea pig like) rats as well as the buffalo, wild horses, Timor deer, a whole array of  birds and of course the fantastic lizards including the Komodo Dragons. As well as the fully grown adults there are also the young Komodo Dragons which usually sit on low branches of the trees. All of these animals are unique to the Komodo National Park. After  the Komodo island, about 10 meters from there you can find a beach with pink sand and you can go the beach by boat, motorcycle, or bus.

PINK BEACH

Pink Beach is one of the famous tourist destinations in Komodo National Park featured by the beautiful white sandy beach, amazing underwater life and stunning panorama surrounding area. The sand beach is derived from small red sand spread out the beach area that way this beach is famous called by pink beach or Pantai Merah where the local people mention it. This beautiful beach is just located in a small land with dry hill in back of the beach of it. It owns the beautiful coral with clear sea water that make it as an ideal place for snorkeling in this park. Access from komodo island to the pink beach just 30 minutes by boat or 4 hours with trekking.


RINCA ISLAND

From the pink beach, it takes time for 4 hours to going to Rinca Islansd. In the Rinca Island you will trek through the forests seeing similar animals as well as other species and some of the conservation work that is carried out in the area. There will more young Komodo Dragons and then head to the Bidadari Island which is an incredible beach for swimming and more snorkeling in an unspoilt area. Activities that can be done such as observation of the Komodo dragon, deer, buffalo, birds, long-tailedmonkeys, wild horses, bird watching, canoeing and trekking


KELIMUTU LAKE 


Kelimutu Lake is located on the flores island, precisely in the village Pemo, ende regency. At the top of the mountain there are three lakes or crater. The lake is known as the three colour lake because it has three  different colours, red, blue and white. the local people belive that , the colours on the lake has the meaning of each and has a very powerful natural force. Many activities that can be doing in there such as take a picture, see the kelimutu lake with good view, see the sunrise and moonlight, and many more. Access: from Kupang (the main city of NTT), you can use a plane to Ende, Flores island about 40 minutes. After that, you can use public transportation to the village kaonara reply within 93 km  it can be taken 3 hours. From the village to the top of the lake Kaonara approximately 2.5 km by foot.
